Wes & All:

Masonite has some advantages over Gatorfoam while the opposite is also true. Masonite, is cheap, thin and bends easily. Gator is pricey, generally thicker and resists bending. I used a double tempered (both sides slick) for around the room as my sky. I then used thin Gator as a removeable view block in my main yard-I slit the sheet into 2 x 8's and the two have been standing upright totally on their own for years--by this time Masonite would have sagged and likely doubled over by now. I couldn't imagine swapping the two.

A few years ago I suggested using Gatorboard instead of Masonite for backdrops on another Yahoo group. I was roundly rebuked as a heretic. I'm glad to see this group is more enlightened.
