I'm presently working on my Omnicom Reading Company RDC-3 and as I always
do, I love to research my projects.

I knew that the Reading & Northern Railroad in Port Clinton, Pa, had all the
Reading RDC cars as they're listed on their web-site. So, Mary and I drove
up there (Pottsville, Pa.) last Friday (5-12-12) to look them over. Not one
was there, so we asked the lady-in-charge and she informed us they were in
storage, but she wasn't allowed to tell us where. She was very nice, and
while we were disappointed we didn't press the subject.

Well, the Reading Railroad ran from Reading to Tamaqua along the Schuylkill
River and the R&N use those old tracks for operation & storage, so
eventually we ended up in Temple, Pa. where we saw this neat restaurant
complex owned by an S Gauger who has been in my home several times. He is a
member of the very active Susquehanna S Gaugers group.
(www.SUSQUEHANNASGAUGERS.COM) The name of the complex is Schell's (27 hole
Championship miniature golf course) on Pa. Rt. 222, just two miles short of
Reading, Pa. Well, it was already 3:30 PM, so we stopped there for dinner.
Mr. Schell wasn't there at the time. As we left, we decided to drive north
instead of driving into Reading. We drove about a city block to a traffic
light and there was the sign, Tulpehocken Road, and just as we turned left
onto that road, there were the storage tracks with all the RDC's and old
passenger cars just sitting there . Wow! Mary and I were elated,

While I'm an old retired Insurance guy, we have always loved to go on Photo
Hunts. Once again this paid off with some great photography. Also, The
Reading and Northern Railroad in Port Clinton, Pa. is easily accessible,
with all kinds of picnic grounds and railroad equipment and sits aside the
now beautiful Schuylkill River. http://www.readingnorthern.com/

Incidentally, the Reading Railroad only had one RDC-3.

(We were on the road for Seven hours.)

I attached several images.
