Might could color it with some tinting colors since brick mortar is not usually 
pure white.

      Since it's water soluble, it can usually be reconstituted even if it 
looks useless.  For mortar, you can spread it on and let it dry, then wipe it 
off with a damp sponge.  I find it much easier to control that way.

Hi:
 I have been gifted with a large partly used pail of wall board mud and 
wondering about what to do with it.
 One idea is to create blobs of it, let dry and then paint in rock colors. Or 
break up the blobs to create small rock and boulders and colour.
 Any benefit to this. Better idea with what do with pail. It would be worth 
keeping even if the content is useless.
