Don....The total sales of SHS locos is a small drop in the bucket of all model
railroad locos. When considering HO, N, AF, O 3-rail, narrow gauge, brass
imports, etc., etc., it is clear (to me) that DCC is not "the current most
popular system to run trains" as was claimed. For every DCC-powered layout,
there are many times that using AC, Lionel Legacy, MTH Command Control, DC, and
others. While SHS made fine products, they were not the only supplier of locos
to the hobby and they represent a very small sample size. I'll stick with my
opinion until some contrary facts show up. Cheers....Ed L.
