This might not help much but possibly a little: The issue of "Classic Trains"
featuring David Ingle's shots of Rock Island passenger trains in and out of the
Kansas City Union station also had an advertisement from the Chicago & North
Western Hisotrical and Technical Society offering a book or monograph on
Pullman cars leased to the railroads around 1950. True, that does not go back
to the Twenties and Thirties, but it might offer some useful information.

I am posting this here also because I vaguely remember something about correct
prototype car names that could have been for the NASG-sponsored heavyweight
sleeper project when it was launched. Any ideas? Thanks Much. DJE-KCMO

I remember hearing of a Fort --- series of cars that may have been 8-1-3s
several years ago; I'll try to retrace it. May have been right here on this
forum. DJE

Does anyone know any of the names of the various heavyweight passenger cars
leased by Pullman to the CRI&P during the 20s and 30s? I'm particularly
interested in cars that would have been used in and out of Mpls/St.Paul (on
either the Short Line Express or Mid-Continent Special).

Thanks,
-Mark
