I am very glad Ron produced these cars when he did and I’m still bragging on them 25+ years later. When you step back a few feet and snap a picture of an S scale layout think about the overall appearance and the proportionality of the models. OK, so Ron’s boxcars are not identifiable to one prototype, so what, put them in a train and snap a picture of them from the side of the layout and tell us what you see. What you see will be a very plausible rendering of a PS-1 or or similar boxcar. Do you see the end so to count the rib spacing – not unless you see around corners with nanosecond vision. However, the Plano roof walks are a definite improvement. Now count the number of models with perfect rib spacing, etc. that you have built from scratch. Put them in a picture of a long train and send us the result. I think you get my drift. As Brooks Stover correctly observed “ I follow the principle of good enough”. Amen. Chris
