The long awaited day has arrived. I now have my lightly modified Walthers REA building in place. I had to do some Homasote "excavating" and still have more to do. The building was "high centering " on a section joint. I tell you I could not be happier with this building. My friend Gus took it well beyond the instruction sheets and put floors in it and other details. There is a wood planked floor on the inside at dock level. Speaking of dock level you can see it lining up very well to the floors of my REA X29 and B60. It was raised just 1/8". I dare say that raising the building may have been able to be skipped if you wanted to roll through. I may cut the back track a little short (not well shown in these photos) so I can back REA trucks up to the dock.
Next up are 3 of my Cabin cars rescued from their boxes. They detailed out about 6 years ago to be put back in the box ready for paint. They are now ready for dull coat, some weathering and glass. So I am happily reporting progress on 2 fronts of my modeling. But this is the best part. I am sharing it HERE - with you. There are no blinking arrows or a Carnival Barker urging you to go down the dark scary road to sign in to a Separate Internet Group, pledge your allegiance to a false prophet and give the secret handshake JUST to get in to read about real S Scale modeling. No sir - none of the silliness for me! Hard to believe it, but real modeling still happens around these parts.
