Pretty simple, John; the engine tracks at Mooar Yard and Terminal District are controlled with SPST switches. The uncouplers on these tracks are in the vicinity of the insulated rail joiners. Coupling units together is a simple process of backing one unit in against a unit on the dead section, stretching the slack to make sure they coupled, applying power and taking off. Uncoupling units is just the opposite.
The gear ratios on all SHABBONA units permit MU operation, with the exception of SW-1 #22. Its higher gear ratio does not permit successful MU operation, thus it spends its days switching at The Humongous Company, a task for which it is well suited. boB Nicholson ______________________________________________ --- In [email protected], rxman46321@... wrote: > > boB, > > Without DCC how did you get "tied RS-3 #35 to RS-1 #33 for additional power > to make up an outbound train." #33 to sit still while hooking up #35? > > Inquiring minds. > > John Griffin > Des Plaines > ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
