  Yeah sometime simpler is better. When I want to make parts a certain size I 
usually just take a fine point sharpie and draw a pattern of them on my 
workbench surface. I also find I use tick marks on the edge of sticky note 
sheets to layout things like grab iron spacing, stirrup steps 
,etc....DaveBranum
