For those who haven't yet heard - - -
After putting in all that effort to upgrade the SMSG Display Layout, we thought
it would be appropriate to enter the module contest that was offered at the
National Train Show. We made it a group entry, reflective of the contributions
from so many club members, and we submitted the entire layout as a single entry.
The judges made their announcements this afternoon. SMSG was selected for
first prize out of 23 modular layouts! We were also cited for a manufacturer's
award for best use of DPM modular components (the upgraded brick station, with
work by Cal Fleming and Brooks Stover, and the Vulcan Iron Works, with work by
Dave Belanger, Tom Nimelli and Brooks).
This is a great recognition of a great group effort! We will certainly be
developing articles for the S publications.
