Original Norfolk Southern ran from Norfolk, VA to Charlotte, NC by way of Raleigh, NC. It was absorbed by the SOUTHERN which in some irony combined with the N&W to become the current Norfolk Southern. WHEW!!
There is a good book available on the original NS at many hobby shops and certainly on AMAZON.
