Every so often I actually have an observation to share and after last night
here goes mine. Lionel's strong resurgence in recent years has been because
they remember where they come from and understand the value of their history.
When countless manufacturers have gone bust over the years, they are still in
business. Therefor I vote we have a little bit of trust in their over all
business plan. Now, why do I say that...
Last night I spent many hours perusing their last ten years or so of offerings
and have noticed that they have slowly embraced scale over traditional
offerings. While they still have a strong core of their re-released traditional
stuff, every year has seen an increase in their scale product lines (shucks if
they had all the stuff now back when I was into O scale I'd still be there).
Whats that got to do with us...simple. If they find the same success with their
new S scale offerings in a few years we're going to be in hog heaven with all
their new offerings to come.
I find that personally, I am very glad I have made the move to S scale and am
excited about what the future holds in store for us. As long as they can offer
a few locos under $1000 :)

Just my 2 bits, Rachel Covington
