Last night sort of on a goof I wanted to try putting some ballast down. I am
already having flashbacks of ballasting my yard module
http://www.lanestrains.com/S_Scale_Modules3.htm 5 years ago. It is SO time
consuming. I just wanted to do a foot + or so in an area I was sure I was
not going to move the track. It is coincidentally in front of the REA
building. I cannot say I liked it even a little as I was doing it yesterday.
But after it dried overnight and I did some clean up I like it a bit more
now.

I also started filling on some of the gaps between the benchwork sections
with spackle. It turns out the gaps are the black hole of ballast
consumption so I am trying to conserve it. The spackle is a little on the
older side so it is thicker. I think that is a good thing here.

So at least I can say scenery has been started!

Thank You,
Bill Lane
