The photo looks like some drover's cabooses I have seen.. There is also a review of a another Kinsman caboose kit in the July 1963 issue -- that looks like a more traditional caboose. And the January 1964 issue has an article written by Will Estes and Frank Titman titled "Build a One Car Mixed Train" or a caboose-combine also known as a drover's caboose. And it has a drawing of a drover's caboose drawn by Frank along with instructions for making one from from a #40 Combine from the AF Old Timer set. If you need a copy of either article let me know.
