Hi all -- In what seems like forever (since before the Chattanooga convention) I finally got back into the train room to do some work. Just before leaving for the convention, one of the turnout control rods decided to come out of its matching throw bar on a key turnout. This caused some electrical opens and shorts, depending upon what was rolling where – all just in time to screw up some video I was taking to possibly show at the convention.
After much fiddling, I threw in the towel and started all over again with the turnout control rod. Fortunately, I hold off scenery until everything is (it says here) totally debugged, so this only required becoming a contortionist with my hands. This time, I used heavier wire and better support under the turnout throwbar area, and I think all is now bulletproof and working perfectly. I hope others have had a productive week... Have fun!
