I have never been a fan of dry transfers. Like Ken just posted I have rubbed
the dry transfers to clear decal film and essentially made them into decals.
But I would be suspect of using any dry transfers now because they are all
getting old, even in sealed bags. This makes they difficult or impossible to
use. I am guessing it has been about 4 years since I heard from Greg Komar
that no one is making new model railroad dry transfers now, so how old could
the extant S sets be now? Easily 10 years old. I know about the holding the
dry transfer to a light to warm it. That only helps so much. The fine data
on dry transfers is never as good as on decals.

With my recent dealings with Jerry Glow decals that is the only way I will
go from now on for odd cars I want to complete. It involved a few emails
with Jerry for about a day and wait about 2 weeks to get the decals. They
are NOT $5.00 a set but he is custom making them for you and you get just
what you want. They are new and fresh, also possibly made to a car number of
your choice.

Previously I have gotten just white decals from Jerry. They were
surprisingly opaque for an Alps like printing process. I just got B&O Buff -
very nice!
