I spend some time this weekend collecting twigs from the back yard. Modeling
s.w. Virginia, I have a large number of fiber and foam trees against my
backdrop. After drying, I broke off pieces of the twigs and used them as tree
trunks and as branches where gaps appeared in the foamed covered, fiber trees.
It seems sometimes as much fun as buying brass is finding something for
free, or very cheap, to use on the layout. Viola, a veritable forest for no
cost.
the other night I found a use for windows for a HO kit that I've been carring
around since probably the late seventies. I've always known I've saved that
kit for 3 decades for a reason. Perfect windows for the forthcoming S scale
"Scale House." What satisfaction. (8-)
