Hi Guys,
The "SOUTHERN" reporting marks SOU GP-35s all ran on Alco Trucks, albeit
HI_NOSE. Some of them ended up on the W&LE I believe, and if memory serves a
member of this group has a couple in the latters paint scheme. I saw the
painted

shells many moons ago at Timonium and that was my final push in to "S"Scale.

Well, not quite all. Nos. 2703-2704 were built with Blomberg trucks.

Also Central of Georgia Nos. 210-214 had Blomberg trucks. Like other
subsidiaries, these eventually were lettered for "Southern" with subsidiary
initials as the sublettering. Due to conflicts with N&W units, they were
renumbered 240-244 around the time of the Norfolk Southern merger.
