Brian,

Back when I first got my DCC system and was putting decoders in as fast as I
could. One day I came up short on decoders in stock. I just got an A B A set
of PRR E7 (Which I sold earlier this year). I was going to run them at Bill
Moore's that night. 1 decoder short - YIKES. I threw in an N Scale decoder
in the B unit and away I went. That B unit kept that N Scale decoder in it
for a long time. I swapped it out with a D13 still working. We are talking
about the massive Sagami motors that were in many Overland locos of that
time.

I guess you are talking about the Alco 539? Buy it. You will be fine with it
in a S1.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
