All:
Tsunami's have great tolerance for amperage -- about double the rated
amount.
They also have a friendly and knowledgeable tech support department,
call or email if you're uncomfortable.
We had such a conversation as you're having when I was agonizing about
using a Tsunami in Raisin' s C&O H-8 2-6-6-6, fearing it would not be
adequate.
Having made sure the H-8's were running well I've had no problems with
two of them now equipped with Tsunami's and Rail Master's DLG-8 speakers.
Both are in boiler mounted under the stack -- that's called "believing".
(Full disclosure tried one with an oval speaker in home-made enclosure
that doesn't hold a candle to DLG-8, will change it out eventually.)
Bill is correct about slaving decoders -- it's a pain and requires full
documentation -- but pre-Tsunami that's the way it was done.
