Hi Bill;

I love it! Where ever did Frank find S scale monkeys.

Back in the 1980's there was a popular scene on many layouts with the old truck
loosing it's load of apples/tomatoes or milk after an accident, but the monkeys
are a great variation. I especially like the one that climbed to the top of the
building - is there a tiny Fay Ray around?

How about a change of pace!  Frank Titman loved model railroading and
everything he did on his layout had a purpose, each section of  his layout told
a story and Frank loved to tell the stories about his model railroad. (That is
why our "Bible" the S Gauge Herald was so successful. Each issue has a story in
it, mostly done by Bob Christ.)Today, I was thinking about Frank and his
"Monkey's."Seemed that someone gave Frank a bag full of scale monkey's and he
just couldn't pass up the opportunity to find a place on his pike to put them.
Eventually, Frank placed a panel truck in front of one of his grocery stores
and the Monkey keeper was to have a monkey show for the stores customers. But
someone backed into the Monkey truck and the monkey's escaped and were running
all over the place, of course everyone was trying to catch the monkey's. Now,
If you didn't notice this little escapade on the Spiral Hill,  Frank would
surely point it out and tell you about
it with a big smile on face.  I found a shot of this scene in my files, but it
is not a good one. Next time I'm at Frank's, I'll capture a better one for us.
When looking at the attached image, notice all the other stuff going on in the
scene, this is why Frank was such a marvelous modeler and why everyone loved to
visit his Spiral Hill Railroad.  And please remember ... "A wise Monkey, never
Monkeys with another Monkey's, Monkey!" Happy "S"miles to Ya, till' we meet
again,Bill (Fraley)
