I was going through blades at a ridiculous rate last month working on card models and log cabins. Out of frustration I tried re-sharpening the blade on the steel in the kitchen knife block and it worked great (took a little practice though lol). I now get at least 3x the amount of use from a single blade. Hope this tip helps someone. FYI I use this method only for blades used on clean cardboard and wood as I don't want to transfer paints dyes glues etc to a food prepping steel. Eventually I will pick up a steel just for the train room.

I don't know the seller, but this is the cheapest price I have ever seen; normally you can get 500 @ $95 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170935283749&refid=store George (Marcopulos)
