Hi,
Finally got to running trains this week. My main line (and I'm sure all the other) rails were "craggy". Most times I hand clean all the rails before running, but this time I placed Wahl Oil on the track and let the train clean them. After about six trips the train ran well. The train; Triple headed [Three AM Geeps] lashed together, 12 hoppers and a caboose. But now when I run my fingers over the rail, I get a black track, am I now supposed to hand clean all the rails or let them be? It was so nice to get back to model railroading. I also spent a lot of spare time this week going through piles of filed papers, sorting them out. WOW! I did find a lot of interesting filings on model constructing, old American Models, !#@! Train Stuff, S Helper Service, Lehigh Valley Models, Pacific Rail flyers and others no longer in business. A real Treasure! Yes, I know, I'm a "Rat Packer." These collections are things "I wanted do but never got to do it," but you know, at times my memory kicks in and I find the paperwork for a project I'm presently working on in all this mess. Yes, that find gives me great satisfaction. Have a great day, Bill (Fraley) Jefferson Central Railroad - The READING Company.
