I've done it and strongly advise however you install them: switches or plugs to
isolate them, using cv15 and 16 lock, consisting, etc. that the installer make
a wiring diagram and record scrupulously the cv settings -- the human memory is
a fragile thing ( and the next owner or customer will thank you too) and put it
somewhere obvious. I recently programmed a set of ABA diesels then put them
away for a year. This year it took me a while to "discover" the consist
address. Now it's printed on the underside of the fuel tanks and notes will go
in the box - lesson learned -- again.
Agree with Bill, in decoders, less is definitely more and apply the KISS
principle at all times.
