The Rail Pro system was briefly discussed here a few months back. It
absolutely does things DCC does not do, or does not easily do. But from my
scan of the website, they keep too many things "behind the curtain." I
searched for a decoder and system capacity and did not find it. They seemed
to be going after the RTR HO Diesel market with the photo icons shown on the
handles. I don't have any of the locos in the demo clip.

 

But by far the biggest deal breaker for me is, they are a proprietary
system. It is all inclusive. You get everything from them. If the company
goes out of business you are stuck with a great investment of control
equipment that might have just plummeted to being all but worthless.

 

At least with DCC there are many alternate sources of similar equipment.
Like many things there is a learning curve to DCC but it is not rocket
science.
