So do the assembled cars being offered by Des Plaines Hobbies have this  
same great detail ?

so good.  IMHO, as good as any in any scale. 
I was able to pick up an unbuilt GN 50'  Boxcar kit at a "local" show as 
few weeks ago; first PRS item I've seen  locally, and one of the few "scale" S 
models I've seen (for sale, at least)  around this area. It's kind of 
ironic, considering the PRS was based not 70  miles from here. 
I think I got lucky...
