Three or four years ago I picked up an old time HO passenger car with the idea of using the roof on an EBT passenger car. I've made a clearstory roof from scratch once before and it was not fun and I didn't want to do it again. :) Of course it has been collecting dust since.
Lee's posts about his EBT layout got me inspired and I dug the old roof out. After scanning though my EBT books the roof closely matched the one on #20. That was good since that is a pretty interesting car. Setting to work and keeping to my rule of "if I need to make more than one of something, make a resin casting" I made up masters of the side and end of the car using styrene. I posted some photos of the results.: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Scale/photos/album/1687815977/pic/list If you are familiar with the car it has a center window which appears to be missing from the casting. It turns out that the middle window was different between right a left. I made the master so that I could machine out the center window in the two different positions. At least that is the theory. :) I'll post more as I make the floor and rework the HO roof to fit the sides. Keith Thompson ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
