Bob,

A car in the 92000 range is a normal car with a Murphy roof. The exception to
"normal" is those Pullman proprietary ends. I have three %#&)@TRAINSTUFF kits
for the Pacemaker box car. I plan to assemble the three and for at least one
and maybe two by crafting Pullman proprietary ends. The TRAINSTUFF box car
kits for the Pacemaker car could be the box car of any railroad that has cars
with Superior doors, Murphy roof, and standard 4/5 ends.

I sanded down the ends on a PRS Erie-Lackawanna box car with 4/5 ends and
created my own Pullman proprietary ends, used a Northeastern shallow round
roof, overlaid it with strips of styrene for the PS-0 type roof. Did the same
with the sides as well. I might cast some proprietary ends for the TRAINSTUFF
cars and would have some spares left over. Let me know if you are interested.
I don't plan to do a business on this but would have a few extras casted as
well.

Tom, Thanks for the input regarding the CGW cars. Mine is in the 92000 range
and I also stand corrected--it doesn't have the Viking roof. I had purchased
one at the same time for a CNW car. Do you have a source for the Pullman
ends--Standard Railway ??

Bob Werre

Bob,

I think I purchased two of those cars from PRS back when, and I noticed that at
the Chattanooga, Ron still had a batch of the cars for sale. Two problems with
the cars he did: One car was lettered in the 90000-series. Problem is that the
90000-series consisted of 50 cars that were so-called PS-0s, had radial roofs,
Pullman proprietary ends, and nine welded panels on each side of the door. The
cars Ron had numbered in the 91 or 92000-series are closer to correct. Problem
there was that those cars also had Pullman proprietary ends, rather than the
standard 4/5 dreadnaught. No CGW steel car ever had a Viking roof, and the two
cars I purchased did not have that feature in the kits either. The car I have
in the 90000-series I will simply renumber into the 91 or 92000-series. The
other one I have built and will leave the ends. It’s not real close but one
cannot fuss about everything. If it were not for Ron we would not have much of
what we have.
