I do agree with much of what Chris referenced. I am not much on liking exposed gears. I really hate 2 motors on 1 loco as well. But at this point having something RTR with advanced electronics & DCC already installed greatly raises my interest level. Someone else figured out how to wrangle the 2 motors and make it all work. I have heard that the Atlas "Lionel" drive runs well from some O Scale friends. Further is that is the only way it is so offered doing anything else would require major reconfiguring thereby negating anything RTR.
