A caulk-like adhesive works well.  Try LiQUID NAILS FOR SMALL PROJECTS which is 
a brownish material with the consistency of bathtub caulk.  Another good 
product is E-6000, sold at plastic stores, which adheres well to slippery 
smooth surfaces like plastic in addition to porous wood surfaces.  Plain old 
bathtub caulk will work also.  I prefer a caulk-like adhesive when the surfaces 
to be joined are somewhat rough and irregular.  The caulk fills the gap and 
holds well.  The only downside is that it takes 48 hours to fully cure and 
becomes hard.  Slightly slower than 5-minute epoxy.  But it will not come
