No mention of the wheels/track using hi-rail standards was mentioned. (Personal note: On some pictures, the rail does look oversize, but it is partially due to the photograph. No real big deal.) The couplers are all Kadee, the scenery and structures are excellent and curves are reasonable, so the larger rail, etc. is a minor point. So called "scale" model flanges are also oversize, so not as much, and look better to most of us.
Many of the large scale models running on Gauge 1 track have large flanges, etc. They have appeared in the Gazette and won awards at National Narrow Gauge Conventions for years. Depending on your criteria, they could be considered hi-rail models. If a model meets your personal criteria, that is all that is important; if it doesn't, don't buy it, or modify it so it does. On a personal note, I really have two layouts. (1) An outdoor garden layout, which uses sectional track with oversize Code 332 brass rail. I even run equipment with hook and loop couplers. This could be considered a hi-rail layout, but it was intended to be a easy diversion and not my primary layout. Even though it is outside, it is actually the smaller of the two. (2) My S scale layout which includes standard, 3' and 2' gauge track. All hand-laid on wooden ties with tiny spikes with 2 spikes/tie to simulate a more backwoods railroad. The standard gauge runs on Code 83 and Code 70 rail. The largest rail size on the narrow gauge is Code 70. They each have different criteria. I still have my childhood AF, but it won't run or be seen on that layout. Different criteria makes a difference.
