The PRS single door 50' box car represents a standard AAR car design.  The best 
source I am aware of is an Ed Hawkins 
article from the 11/98 RMJ, found here:

The ends represent a car built after 1954.

You may also be interested in the 8/99 RMJ article Ed wrote covering the
