The trip up to the Amherst show was well worth it. I was really impressed but it kept me up overnight trying to figure out what to do with my S scale stuff.
Lately I've been operating regularly on layouts around the DC area and was tuned into that. The effective use of the train turntable made the operation on the busy branchline work. My guess is that the trains were limited to about 3' 10" which worked well for the branch. This sounds short but it seemed appropriate for what was modeled. It also didn't seem forced like some O scale layouts are. The scenery was well done. And the scenes well composed. Similar to the Midwest Valley Modelers that that I was in years ago, the guys created very believable scenes that reminded you were in a specific region. In this case Canada. The whole layout was thoroughly well done from top to bottom. That is truly rare. And inspiring. Inspiring enough to for me to kick around ideas for my next S scale modules and eventually a layout. Thanks for a sleepless Sunday morning! Oh and a motivation to work some more in my favorite scale.
