Thanks Dave. That’s funny: Spiral Hill! There is rumored to be another photo of a non Monon gon with spiral ends in “Mainline Modeler’s” article on USRA gons back in 1981, but I only have 1 part of the 2 part article.
I’m guessing the load in the Monon car is coal, since I think the photo was taken in front of the “Lil Betty” coal tipple near Linton, IN in the Monon’s Midland Coal District. This is all conjecture on my part. Hi Roger, That's a very neat model. I don't think I've ever seen a car with those type of ends before, they'd look right at home on the Spiral Hill. Wonder what the load is in the prototype photo?
