Carl does a nice job in checking things out.  Despite just a ton of 
electronics etc. the wiring is about as neat as possible.  After 
checking out the exposed gears on the wheels, I don't think the 
appearance is that big a deal.  What might cause problems is that loose 
piece of ballast stuck to the gear with the lube--ouch!
