Ed,
My blast booth & paint booth does not know if a model is mine or someone else's. The process is all the same. If I think I am going to be doing something frequently of course I try and do it WELL, but more importantly get set up to get the best results possible. Work smart not hard. My friend Gus gets amazing results painting in a booth that is truly the size of a shoe box. With size 13 feet the boxes for MY shoes are actually BIGGER. He has to drag his booth out of a closet and hook it up. NO! I can't work like that. It would be just way too annoying for me. Plus since I do so much S & O work a shoe box would not do. My 2) 110v compressors were bought 1 at a time progressively larger and as a replacement for a 60 year old compressor that just died completely. I cheaped out and got the diaphragm compressor first when I should have gotten the twin cylinder. That is the last time I did something like that. When my compressor had problems I was going to just get an identical 110v replacement. After surfing around a bit I found I could get a small 220v unit with TWICE the output for $50.00 more. There was nothing else to consider. Running the 220v line cost me about $100.00 in supplies but I did it myself. It was all worth it to me. The frequency of doing a job is a factor. But how much effort is involved in getting set up for it should not exceed the job itself or you won't do it often.
