Jack Bartman Hi Jack -- No, it is not possible. 46” diameter works out to about 12 feet of run per circle of track (presuming that you are also limiting the whole helix to 48” x 48”) whereas to gain the requisite 4” between levels will take 16 feet at approximately 2%. Now if you stretch the helix into an oval, you can see that you can do it in 48 x 72”. I used 4” between levels which gives you approximately one inch for benchwork to support the track, but practically no clearance for the trains.
