I use Kadee 802's and do have a box full of the Walthers couplers and SHS
couplers as well, but I try to stay with Kadee 802's.

Actually they are difficult to assemble. I always assemble mine over a white
box [or cloth] so when a spring (part) flies loose I can easily find it. I
also super glue the box once assembled.

Regarding my FNF;

Today I tackled a tough section of track to rebuild and it has a RH # 6
switch built into it. It is in a very remote area and I really should have
a helper when working in there. But amazingly, it went well with only a
minor gauge correction and cleaning up the of the area. The switch had
developed some slope in it, and once that was corrected it went well.

To be honest, at age 83 those craw-unders can get to you, especially when
you need something and you let it over on the workbench! 8>)

But my Trackwork repair is coming to an end, and then I can start cleaning
up and repairing scenery and getting the Jefferson Central back into
operation.

PS: I have a friend that has about a dozen strips of SHS flex track that he
is willing to part with, anyone interested?
