I don't think DCS is any more or less complicated than DCC, just different.  
Same goes for TMCC/Legacy.  It's a matter of getting used to the terms and 
controllers.  

And like everything else, you wind up using mostly only a couple of the 
features of all the ones available.

All I really use consistantly when using TMCC, DCS or DCC is loco select, 
forward, backwards, speed control, lights on/off, whistle/horn and bell(if 
sound equipped.)  If I need to use something else, I look it up as needed.

When all else fails, I throw my block toggles to the other position and run my 
straight DC stuff.
