Hi Rusty --

Sorry to hear this, as I grew up with that layout and the three scales.
Obviously, Henry’s trains had a huge impact on my later S modeling. Good that
you got some short videos of your train running on the layout. That shovel
was a key player in the visitor interest level of the layout, and I am glad you
have it also. You are a fine person to carry on the scratch building
tradition of Henry Sprague, as your models are even better than his.

The layout was never the same after the building it was in was moved with the
layout still inside. I am sure that a total rebuilding was in order after at
least 60 years of use and the move, just too bad the group did not see the
tradition.

As you said, rest peacefully ---

The West Bay Model Railroad Club in Menlo Park, Ca. Dismantled their layout
today. It--WAS-- a three scale layout; O, S and HO.
I took home the Henry Sprague operating steam shovel and the two hopper cars he
built. These date from around 1952.

----------The end of an era.------------

The new layout will be HO only. The HO members out number the O and S member so
they had a; 'fair and democratic vote", to end the the S and O.

Rest peacefully my friends
