About ten years+ ago I bought one of these rolls to roll the boilers on our CN
Moguls. I have a couple of slip rolls but the 1" roll was too large for these
little boilers.

I ran into the fixed axle problem the first time I used it. I made a new roller
from 1/2 aluminum rod and bored a through hole. A piece of drill rod was used
for the axle but I didn't go fancy like Bill with his new toy. I heated the rod
and bent a 90 degree bend for a handle.

I also didn't want to damage our etched rivets and details Simon worked so hard
to get right. I added heat shrink tubing to all rolls and the problem was
solved.

I mounted the machine on a piece of 1/2" plywood with a piece of
2x4 screwed to the bottom. Drop the 2X4 into a bench mounted vice, clamp and
it's ready to go.

I have rolled literally hundreds of boiler courses with this little machine and
am very happy with it.
