Hi Dan,
There is none better a layout anywhere than Brooks Stover's BC&G, nor is there a finer person than Brook's himself. I for one have been fortunate enough to be a visitor in Brooks home and have toured his marvelous layout. Brooks is everything a S scaler is meant to be, as he builds most everything from scratch, does the most through research on everything he does on his layout and is now a regular writer in most model railroad magazines, giving us in S scale much exposure. Whenever I have visitors or when giving a public speaking engagement on model railroading, I always show Brook's marvelous CD on his Buffalo Creek and Gauley. Brooks just had another piece published in this month's NMRA magazine. Let's not forget, Brooks is a NMRA Master Model Railroader and as such demands the highest respect among all of us modelers. Congratulations Brooks! Dan, lately I too have been bothered by the writings on this great list. I find many comments derogative, demeaning and uninformative to most of us S Scale model railroaders. How to edit it out is another problem. For years I've been writing to all on this list that we are all S gaugers [United] and as our dear friend Frank Titman has said so many times, "It's my model railroad!" I have a fairly nice sized model railroad, it will never be to the perfection of Brook's, Dick Karnes and Ed Loizeaux's and so many others, but I and my visitors enjoy it and that's all that matters. For those of you that don't like what is going on with our S gauge actions, may I suggest that you start your own S scale list, you could call it "Yahoo S Scale Griper" list. Heck, I might even look in on it from time to time, myself! "S"incerely, Bill (Fraley)
