Right on, Ed! SHABBONA started out to be a simple layout with a long main line run. Not much can go wrong with that, can it? Problem is, I had to keep enlarging the dream to handle the increases in rolling stock, and I did not acquire anything that did not fit my goals. Before long, the dream mushroomed out of control. I finally "bit the bullet" and sent some of my favored locomotives to new careers on other layouts. The resulting operation is like a breath of fresh air, in that it has brought things closer to my original goal, and my engines can now find a spot in the engine terminals at either end of their runs. The exception is three Alco RS-units that spend a lot of time on a storage track (a stub of the old South Main).
That being said, I would like to focus on scenery, but so far that hasn't happened. I would like to have nothing better than have a scenery crew show up here and help out, but that isn't about to happen. I can't keep up with the projects I want to complete, and I don't think I've seen the top of my workbench for a couple of months, now, so my "lone wolf" status remains intact as trains operate back and forth prototypically over the main line. boB Nicholson _________________________________________________ --- In [email protected], "Ed" <Loizeaux@...> wrote: > > > The lone wolf with a large layout is a rare breed these days.
