John Hempfling here.
While working on kitbash model with detailed inside. I used the tape on
the inside of the in place windows so I could paint the outside and keep the
inside paint free. It worked fairly well. I intend to use the color of the
model for the inside window trim.
Thinking about this tape I played with different coats of clear spray on
the outside to cover the sticky aspect of the tape so it would not attract dirt
on the glass. This also gave the outside window color the gloss I wanted and
bonded the tape to the window.
I looked through all the technique books I have and My file of retained
modeling articles, and could not come up with a reference to this.
I have seen that this tape can discolor and crack. Part of this may be the
atmosphere, etc that the tape found itself in.
Any feedback on this?
