All; In regard to MTH equipment, below is an excerpt from a message on this list back in May of this year, from Jeff Wilson of Hoquat Hobbies.
"Wheel sets: Decision to not include both hi rail and scale wheel sets was made to keep cost down. Since (based on info provided by SHS folks) about 80% of sales are to hi rail guys, they decided to make the AF stuff standard. They did have discussions about doing cars as either scale only and hi rail only, a la the American Models method, but decided against it for now. Anyway, I will gladly swap wheel sets for any customer who wants scale wheels at no added cost, for those folks who buy MTH cars from us." So there you go....
