Hi all -- This week I had Brian Moosman, “Kiwi moose”, here for a few days. He is from New Zealand, and had visited the layout a couple of times before over the last several years. This trip, he actually got to see most of the trains run. Everything ran well, especially the RRM steamers and my 5 F unit freight. We spent a lot of time on Google Earth as he educated me on New Zealand railroading.
Most of my time for the last month has been spent doing stuff for the NASG and the upcoming convention. This convention will have a few changes from the past, the biggest being the general membership meeting. Because there are a lot of folks who can’t stay late for the dinner and all the usual speechafiyin’, awards will be made during the general meeting with a reading of the winners at dinner. The general meeting itself will have some news to cover, so if you come to the convention, please don’t miss it. See you there, I hope! Bill Winans
