Before WWII Lionel offered pre-madescenic plots, they were complete scenes 
ready to drop-in.  I decided to borrow the idea (again) to do a few for the new 
layout using Clever Models company houses, leftover masonite, paint and some 
painters tape..

My results aside, I think the concept has great potential..

- The plots can be made on the table or workbench, no reaching across the 
layout to build

- Easy to remove for modification or dusting

- Curbs are built in, and a thinner material (or the layout surface) can be 
used for the streets.

- If you've got more structures than layout space you could swap out plots, 
change industries, seasons, etc.
