I just returned from out of town and my August issue of RMC was waiting. There
have been some other comments posted here about Roger Nulton's beautiful
feature article in this issue but I wanted to add mine. It's clear from
Roger's excellent photos that he has captured perfectly the character of the
Monon in autumn in Indiana...a stunning layout beautifully presented in the
magazine. What is particularly noteworthy is that all of Roger's structures,
locomotives and rolling stock are either scratchbuilt or modified to disguise
their origin so the layout has a totally unique (and prototypically accurate)
look. The layout also has that intangible look of overall visual harmony. And
the realistic track plan with no overcrowding results in truly stunning photos.
Way to go, Roger! Great job on the layout and the article! I know you waited
a long time to see the piece in print. Seeing your layout in person is on my
'must do' list. Brooks Stover
