boB, Don Munsey Jr. showed me that the On30 Bachmann mogul can be
converted to S. It was a matter of regauging. I tried to find his pictures of
the
conversion but couldn't locate them. But yes,it can be done. If I find the
files I'll forward them to you.

Thanks Dave:

I called Railmaster Hobbies last night for more info Turns out the 4-4-0
and companion 2-6-0 are both narrow gauge engines, thus not exactly correct
for what I have in mind.

I guess the next thing is a truckload of elbow grease to see if Bachamnn
might be interested. If not, I may have to see if I can get someone to
"S"tandard gauge an 0n30 4-4-0 or 2-6-0 for me. I understand that at one time,
someone (Grandt Line?)offered a conversion kit for the purpose

I have an 0n30 2-6-0 I picked up on Ebay for size comparison. It would
make a great S scale 2-6-0. I also just snagged Tyco 4-8-0, but haven't
received it yet. Ideas on replacing the missing smokestack are welcome
