We discussed this a while back and Roger Delthony reminded me that he
made 7/8" dia. logs for our club's 751.  I had measured my logs at home
at 13/16".  I think bigger is better.  On my 751 the larger logs don't
rest on the lift mechanism and the solenoid operates a lot more snappily
with a bit of travel before contacting the log.
